TAKING STOCK 52

TAKING STOCK 52

In last week`s article, Reflections #5: On Friendship I mentioned that July has been a delightful month for my friendship goals. I have made fond memories with some of my favourite people. The highlight for me has been attending a wedding for one of my best girls. I cried as she walked down the aisle, said her vows, danced throughout the day and also when we had to say good bye to her while she was whisked off to her honeymoon destination. The joy was seeing what we prayed for unfold before our eyes. God is good.

July remains unmatched interms of joy and happiness with my people. I hope August is even better. Joy and sadness can coexist. Amidst my July happiness, I experienced a rejection from an opportunity that I hoped I would get. Ah!! But regardless we move.

Let`s dive into my July update:

Making: time to be present with my best girls. I`m still giddy with excitment.

Eating:  spaghetti. This is an easy to prepare meal that everyone should have in their house.

Drinking: water because Kampala is starting to look feel and look like a desert. The rains are sparse.

Reading: The Middle Daughter by Chika Unigwe and An Angel`s Demise by Sue Nyathi. (I still have few pages to go.) Read it on Scribd.

Listening: to music from playlists I have curated. Adding playlist curator to my bio!!

Wanting: money, travel and a vacation.

Wishing: for a breakthrough and a getaway.

Wondering: about people’s behaviour on social media.

Hoping: for a life full of abundance, love, good health and positive vibes.

Marvelling: at how joy and sadness can coexist!!

Smelling: a new season.

Wearing: my hair in dreadlocks. I coloured my tips and I feel brand new.

Following: creative spaces that are doing amazing things in their part of the world.

Noticing: that you will fail yourself and you require to be patient and kind to yourself.

Knowing: that joy and sadness will always coexist.

Bookmarking: excerpts from the books I`m reading. The Middle Daughter by Chika Unigwe has nuggets worth writing about.

Feeling: grateful for the work that has come my way this month.

Song dedication: Away by Ugandan artist Ssensamba.

May you be surrounded by people who want you and desire you in August.

Happy new month!!
