Taking Stock 46

1/12
I have had the best January in the history of all Januarys. May this become a norm.

I discovered a bakery that sells fruit cake muffins. You bet, I am a regular. I am collecting small joys every day. My small joys for January comprise visits to my sister`s home, spending time with her babies and my daily walks. What are your small joys?

Let`s dive into my January update:

Making: time to walk and skip. Walking is not for the faint-hearted in this Kampala furnace. Walking in the evening allows me to watch the sky change colour shades. I get to process my thoughts and plan for the next day or simply listen to an audio book uninterrupted.

Eating: fruit cake muffins.

Drinking: cinnamon tea. Are there any cinnamon tea lovers reading this? (I think it`s underrated.)

Reading:  The Havoc of Choice by Wanjiru Koinange, Manchester Happened by Jennifer Nansubuga Makumbi, The Worst Best Man by Mia Sosa, The Wedding Crashers by Mia Sosa and In the Company of Men by Veronique Tadjo.

Wasting: no time on things that don`t bring me joy.

Wishing: for a car. This is the year we purchase one. God and I are already in talks.

Wondering: about the second quarter. I seem to have a grasp of the first quarter.

Hoping: for a February full of love and money-making opportunities.

Marvelling: at how different we are as a people.

Smelling: good fortune. I am beyond excited for the year 2023.

Wearing: my dreadlocks. I took out the faux locs. phew!! I feel normal.

Following: bookstagrammers.

Noticing: how things fall into place eventually.

Knowing: all things will fall into place and make sense.

Bookmarking: excerpts from the books I`m reading.

Feeling: happy. January has been kind to me.

Song dedication: See How Far by Victoria Orenze ft Nathaniel Bassey and Dunsin Oyekan. A beautiful song that has allowed me to give thanks each day.

May February be a month filled with love and money-making opportunities.

Happy new month!!

Cheers to new beginnings.❤
