TAKING STOCK 36

TAKING STOCK 36

How are we in the second quarter of 2022!!? A lot has happened in the last three months in our individual lives but also on the international scene. Ukraine and Russia are still at it. Netflix gave us Young, Famous & African Season 1, Inventing Anna, Tinder Swindler, Bridgerton Season 2 and so much more.

Will Smith and Chris Rock have slapped us with new gossip and everyone is wilding. The Speaker of the Ugandan Parliament passed on, and his burial budget costs caused an uproar but oh well, no budget cuts were heard of. I could go on and on with updates but I guess you already know what`s happening in the world.

March has been good to me. I have applied myself in some key areas of my life. More than ever, the last three months have taught me the value of friendships.

Here is my March wrap-up;

Making: time to stay alive and boldly pursue my goals. I had to carve out time to do personal work aside from my day job.

Eating: gweke. This maize snack (chilli seasoned) was made for me! I snack on it when I`m working, watching a movie or reading. It comes in three flavours: original, chilli and chicken. Chilli flavour is my favourite.

Drinking: water. The heat situation demands we keep hydrated.

Reading: In Every Mirror She`s Black by Lola Akinmade Akerstrom, Nearly All The Men in Lagos Are Mad by Damilare Kuku, His Only Wife by Peace Adzo Medie (book club read), Requiem of Silence by L.Penelope, It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover, Legendborn by Tracy Deonn and Morality for Beautiful Girls by Alexander McCall Smith off his series The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency.

Wanting: money and travel.

Wasting: No time on things that don`t bring me joy. With all that is happening in the world, I need only peace and joy. Anything else has no space in my life.

Wishing: for travel. Ever felt like you were stuck in a place? I believe travel will get me free.

Wondering: about adulting. This one word carries so much weight that it burdens and unburdens you at every point in time.

Hoping: to create content consistently.

Marvelling: at the work, the celebrities put into pursuing their dreams.

Smelling: opportunities. March came with some great opportunities for me. I hope April is just as good.

Wearing: my hair in dreads.

Following: #360mentorAfrica. Robert Kabushenga runs the #360mentor collaborative learning series where he hosts renowned people in different industries: Fintech, Creative Arts, Business, Agribusiness, Fashion, etc. The wealth of knowledge in this spaces is unmatched.

I am also closely following, Kafunda Kreative, a fellowship of creatives learning from one another, growing together and collaborating to build brands, products and services that kick ass. I attended their 2022 Kreative Sprint which answered so many nagging questions I had. They also connect creatives to work. Visit their website.

Noticing: how I have been dreaming small.

Knowing: that God is my friend.

Bookmarking: excerpts from the books I`m reading.

Feeling: excited about the new quarter. A freshness overload is upon us.

Song dedication: Solid Rock by Uche Agu. This song has that vibe that makes you do the African face, ready to pull off some dope moves. haha!

May you increase in April.

Happy New month!

How was your March?
