TAKING STOCK 29

TAKING STOCK 29

July was whatever it was. I was busy most of the time with work and personal projects. I went hard in some aspects of my life and I must say I am proud of myself. I also learned one of the biggest lessons from a lady I admire, she believes that no matter what you are going through, don`t stop chasing your purpose, dreams, and goals. With that, my attitude changed. I did not let any curve ball weigh me down. I was honestly happier towards the end of July.

Also, July ended on a high with the president lifting the lockdown.πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸ’ƒπŸΏπŸ’ƒπŸΏ

Here is my July wrap-up;

Making: time to pray, walk and work out. I have been walking every Saturday morning with my friend Jennifer. During these walks, we have had some exhilarating conversations.

Eating: fresh chilli pepper. If you are a lover of chilli, the fresh one from the market or your garden is fire. πŸ”₯πŸ”₯ Now I find food without chilli bland.

Drinking: hot water with ginger. I love ginger and would literally take it in anything.

Reading: Meetings with Death by Botho Lejowa, The Girl Who Smiled Beads by Clemantine Wamariya, and When the Times were Still Young by Bruno Ariganyira. I read Meetings with Death and The Girl Who Smiled Beads twice to understand certain aspects of the books better.

Wanting: the lockdown to end. I want to be free to move to any place of my choice without restrictions.

Wasting: no time playing small. This is draining. You are made for more, be more.

Wishing: for two travel experiences before the year ends.

Wondering: about August.

Hoping: to have a fruitful August filled with money-making opportunities, collaborations, and every good thing.

Marvelling: at how much work goes into honing one`s craft.

Smelling: hope. The 42-day lockdown came to an end and everything is almost back to normal. Public transport has been reinstated, boda bodas are free to carry people.

Wearing: my hair in dreads.

Following: Rabbi Daniel Malinga of Rabbi Daniel Malinga Ministries. The ministry has released an app-The Rabbi Daniel Malinga app which is free to download on play store for Android and Apple store for iPhone users. The app has sermons, podcast episodes, video content and so much more.

Noticing: how we all need each other. No man is an island.

Knowing: that God wishes me well. In my mother tongue, it sounds so good, Mukama akugondeza.❀

Bookmarking: excerpts from the books I`m reading.

Feeling: excited. I am planning to run the Meet Your Author series on Instagram live. The series is aimed at bringing writers closer to readers through book discussions and interviews.

Song dedication: Hymn of Breakthrough by Israel and New Breed off their Feels Like Home album released earlier this year. The album has beautiful songs.

As you get into August, do whatever it is you have been planning to do since January.πŸ˜‚You got this.

Happy New month!
