June was overwhelming. I questioned myself. I doubted God. I was stretched but didn`t break. I emerged stronger and better, I think😂.
June also brought great opportunities my way. Without revealing anything, I want you to know this- kings shall come to your rising. Keep putting in the work.😎
Here is what I`ve been up to in June;
Making: time to pray, walk and work out. With a 42 day lockdown imposed, I need every self care routine to stay sane.
Eating: white rice with black pepper and vegetables and stews. I always stock up on rice in my house. The lockdown will ensure I finish the rice before buying anything else😂. You know how growing up, you were to only eat what was available; Cravings were not given attention?😂. That is my plan during these 42 days.
Drinking: hot water with ginger, lemon and sometimes weed. With the second wave of COVID-19, my water intake has been consistent. I added weed to the mix after friends told me about its healing components. I take it before I go to bed so if I get high, I get high in my sleep😂😂.
Reading: Stay with Me by Ayobami Adebayo, So Long A Letter by Mariama Ba, Grown by Tiffany D.Jackson and Meetings with death by Botho Lejowa.
Wanting: the death counts to stop.😭 I got to a place where anxiety consumed me whole that I had to stop watching the news and reading whatsapp statuses because the RIPs were too much. Then a good friend lost her father and my heart shattered. What is life?
Wasting: no time in supporting my sister`s business. Her business Handy Place is an online clothing store which deals in deras and dresses for the everyday woman at affordable rates; offers personal shopping services. (Please follow her on instagram and give her your monies)
Wishing: for two travel experiences before the year ends.
Wondering: about 2021. The first six months have been overwhemling. Blow after blow like we are in a boxing ring with Mike Tyson😭😭.
Hoping: to experience God`s goodness in the next six months of the year.
Marvelling: at how much work goes into pursuing one`s purpose and dreams. THIS WILL NEVER GET OLD.
Smelling: fear. Everyone is scared of this new COVID-19 wave and the destruction its leaving behind.
Wearing: my hair in dreads. Dreads should have a tagline: hair with no stress.cheessy, right?😂😂
Following: Rabbi Daniel Malinga of Rabbi Daniel Malinga Ministries. If you have questions about the bible, your life, and the world, try following the rabbi. He teaches the word profoundly and you will have so many aha and ooh moments when listening to him. Follow him on Youtube and on his website. During such intense times, you ought to be feeding your spirit. Where are you feeding from?
Noticing: how I self doubt myself when opportunities come knocking on my door.
Knowing: that God is for me and He will not fail.
Bookmarking: excerpts from the books I`m reading.
Feeling: at peace. Inspite of what is going on in the country, my eyes are on the one who gives peace.
Song dedication: My Help by Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir. This song stems from one of my favourite Psalms-Psalm 121.
As you get into July, remember where you`re help comes from.
Happy New month!
