Taking Stock 27

Taking Stock 27

It`s that time of the month, not the time for aunt rose or red rose but the time when I take stock of my month. As you might notice edition 26 is missing and we are all about edition 27 today. I took a social media break in May because I had planned to but there were other factors that cemented my decision. In other news, adulting has been kicking my ass and I let it. 🀣🀣🀣🀣

Here is what I`ve been upto in May;

Making: time to sleep. I stayed away from my usual routine and slept for more hours. I didn`t work out at all neither was I waking up early as my custom. I was on a chill.

Eating: junk food. May was my month to eat whatever I wanted without feeling guilty.

Drinking: water in all its forms-warm, spiced with cinnamon, cold.

Reading: The First Woman by Jennifer Nansubuga Makumbi, Kololo Hill by Neema Shah and Clap When You Land by Elizabeth Acevedo. I recommend these books for anyone looking for insightful and thought provoking reads.

Wanting: peace and quiet. I needed everything to just stop making noise.

Wasting: no time in arguments or trying to win arguments.

Wishing: for two travel experiences before the year ends.

Wondering: how people who don`t have a relationship with God go through life. I`m curious to know. Adulting has had me this month and I felt like I should reset my year.🀣 But like the Psalmist in Psalm 124, I declared, β€œIf it had not been the Lord who was on our side, When men (adulting) rose up against us, Then they would have swallowed us alive..”

Hoping: for a luxurious June.🀣😜 I`m all about the soft life.

Marvelling: at how much work goes into pursuing one`s purpose and dreams. This will never get old.

Smelling: Fifth Avenue by Elizabeth Arden. A friend gifted me this sweet perfume a few months ago. I can`t get over it.

Wearing: my hair in dreads. I am two months into the dreads hair journey and I`m loving every minute of it.

Following: Rabbi Daniel Malinga of Rabbi Daniel Malinga Ministries. If you have questions about the bible, your life, and the world, try following the rabbi. He teaches the word profoundly and you will have so many aha and ooh moments when listening to him. Follow him on Youtube and on his website.

Noticing: how situations-good or bad bring to remembrance what is important and shape your decision making process.

Knowing: no matter the storm, God is still God and He is GOOD.

Bookmarking: excerpts from the books I have read.

Feeling: refreshed. Taking a social media break in May has been the best decision ever. I`ve had time to pause and reflect.

Song dedication: Mercy by Elevation Worship and Maverick City. This is one of my favourite songs off their new album `Old Church Basement.’

As you get into June, be reminded that you`re living proof of what the mercy of God can do.

Happy New month!
