At the start of August, I hoped for a beautiful month filled with money creating moments, love, good writing, good food and a staycation. I didn’t get a staycation but I took leave from work and rested.
I buried my nose in books and had an unplanned book discussion on Twitter with Kangye and Peggie on An American Marriage by Tayari Jones. I read this book in 2019 and needed to discuss it, for closure. Hahaha!!! I also talked through The Children of Blood and Bone and The Children of Virtue and Vengeance by Tomi Adeyemi with Mable. I needed to complain to someone who had read both books and share my likes and what I didn’t think worked.
Here is a snippet of my August in a few words;
Making: Time to read, read and read some more.
Eating: Groundnut paste (Oddi) with almost everything- Matooke, Rice, Cabbage, Yams, Irish and Sweet potatoes.
Drinking: Water. I honestly enjoy drinking water. I don’t need Dr Kasenene to remind me of its importance.
Reading: Daughters who walk this path by Yejide Kilanko, The Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi, The Children of Virtue and Vengeance by Tomi Adeyemi and Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi.
Wanting: To have more book discussions because some books just need a discussion. I also want more tattoos. (God help me!!)
Wasting: No time on people and things that are trying to distract me and compromise my peace.
Wishing: For more weeks of work leave.
Wondering: About my life with just four months to the end of the year.
Hoping: For a September filled with money creating moments, love, good writing, good food and God encounters.
Marvelling: At how people have an opinion about everyone and everything.
Smelling: Fresh air. Each morning I throw my windows wide open and take in the morning air. I am thankful to be alive and for the fresh air.
Wearing: My big sister’s hat with my siblings. I had to report for duty in a major way this month.
Following: Yejide Kilanko.
Noticing: How my friends are winning in small ways.
Knowing: that God hears, God answers and God knows. I needed a breakthrough on some matters and God came through right on time.
Bookmarking: Quotes from the books I am reading.
Feeling: Happy.
Song dedication: Moment by Covenant Worship. A song that will keep your eyes on the things that matter and never want to miss a moment, but just take the moment to lift a voice in praise.
This September do all that God has called you to do.
Happy New month.

Thank you J. It is a beautiful feeling. Thank you for passing by.xx
We need to discuss more books. The burden of carrying that world alone needs to be shared.
Also, good luck with oddi, the relationship didn’t work out in my world.
Yes,we should and we must discuss more books. We need to work on your relationship with Oddi, seriously.
Happy belated month, am intrigued by the tattoos. Could you do a blog post on your headspace on getting a new tattoo or an old one if you already have one. Also it has been nice to read your stock taking.
Thank you Anita. Never thought about a tattoo blog post, don`t think I will do one though. But you and I can have a convo on it in some DM.lol!!
Thank you for passing by the blog.
