“God has not been trying an experiment on my faith or love in order to find out their quality. He knew it already. It was I who didn`t.”-C.S.Lewis
I attended bible study last Thursday with the Disciples Youth Fellowship at Bugolobi Church of The Resurrection,Church of Uganda-an amazing fellowship with the greatest people in the world.
“Realities in the Spirit ” was our topic in the bible study and it sought to enable us understand what intimacy with God is. The reality (ies) in the spirit are not merely based on how much we know about God (knowledge) but how much we know Him (trust).
My favorite question from the bible study guide was on the challenges we face in understanding spiritual things. The group I was in made bible study worth attending each month. Most of us agreed, our greatest challenge was “t-r-u-s-t”. We all shared on how trusting God was no easy task, at least its easy in speech and not in doing.
One of my group members stated, `its hard being reckless in life,” (that statement sparked this article off).
Reckless means having or showing no regard for danger or consequences or marked by proper caution. I define it as exercising your faith , trusting God through each situation; knowing He has got your back even when it doesn`t feel like it.
God has required of me to trust Him with careless abandon in this season. I must confess its not as easy as it rolls off the tongue. To exercise my faith in every sense has been difficult, most of the time, I wanted to worry because I felt God was taking long to deal with my affairs. But the bible is clear in Matthew 6: 25-26 (NKJV)
25`Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?”
26“Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap or gather into barns: yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?”
Embrace the bird mentality, rely on God without restraint because you are valuable to Him In this season, God has reminded me to recklessly abandon myself in His care.
I am uncertain about many things but My God isn`t, He is perfectly aware of my future because He plans and holds it together.
Remember, it is hard to be reckless in God when your focus is on everything else except HIM.
Be careless in God`s care…..
Happy new month.

woooow… i sadly missed this bible study but i took time to read and reflect on it, many a times the Holy spirit is left out , when we enter a relationship with God we are filled with His Spirit who in turn breeds in us the qualities we need for a healthy life and healthy relationships i.e patience, joy,love,..(fruit of the Holy Spririt), the relationship we have with God pours into us so that we pour into each other…
i admit its hard sometimes to trust God and you knoooow to leave it In His hands….but He is a loving God and ocfourse this requires of us to be obedient even when its painful to be Prov 3:5.. Trust in God with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding…( to trust in GOD is rather a daunting but fruitful task bse the one we trust in is unquestionably faithful) reminds of “though you slay me”
thanks for sharing
